Requirements
- Apple Vision Pro on visionOS 26 or later.
- Live monitoring needs a camera or an SRT/NDI sender reachable over the same Wi-Fi/LAN as your headset.
Axial Viewer is part of a family. Its companion, Interaxial, runs on iPhone and iPad and can transcode an immersive still and hand it off to the viewer. Axial Viewer can also open spatial photos directly from Files — no companion app required.
Getting started
- Install Axial Viewer on your Apple Vision Pro (visionOS 26+).
- Review a spatial still. In the Interaxial app, transcode an immersive still — it hands off and opens here automatically. Or, in Axial Viewer, go to the Spatial tab and open a spatial photo from Files.
- Monitor live. On the Live tab, connect over SRT (host and port) or pick a discovered NDI source. The first time, allow Local Network access when prompted.
No camera? Review a spatial photo
You don’t need any hardware to try the immersive dome. Open a spatial photo from the Spatial tab (via Files) and Axial Viewer presents it in stereo on the 180° dome. Live SRT/NDI monitoring is the only part that needs a camera or sender on your network.
Common questions
- A spatial photo won’t open, or nothing appears on the dome.
- Confirm you’re on visionOS 26 or later and that the file is a supported spatial photo (a stereo
.heic). For a hand-off from Interaxial, make sure both apps are up to date on the same device. - The live monitor needs hardware, right?
- Yes — live SRT/NDI monitoring streams from a camera or sender on your network. The spatial-still path works with no hardware at all.
- Live connection fails or times out.
- Check that you allowed Local Network access (Settings → Axial Viewer → Local Network), that the headset and the sender are on the same network, and that the host and port are correct. Firewalls and “client isolation” on guest Wi-Fi can block the connection.
- How does the hand-off from Interaxial work?
- Interaxial transcodes an immersive still to a spatial photo and shares it through a container on your device; Axial Viewer opens it. Everything stays local — nothing is routed through us.
- Does Axial Viewer collect my data?
- No. There are no accounts and no analytics. See our Privacy Policy.
